BBQ Baked Beans

Before being vegan, I would ask for my dad's baked beans every year on my birthday. They were so good, I would eat the leftovers for every single meal:) I thought I would never eat them again once I became vegan but finally realized that I could just veganize them!! I had my dad try them and he approved and could not believe they were vegan! The ingredients may seem a bit funny but trust me, they are all very important and make this dish next level good!

BBQ Baked Beans Recipe
2 cans of vegetarian baked beans (28 oz each)
3-4 slices of vegan bacon or 1/8 c of vegan bacon bits
1 lb of vegan beef crumbles
2 bell peppers diced
1 onion, diced
1 can of apple pie filling (smashed or puréed)
1/2 cup sweet and spicy BBQ sauce
1/2 c brown sugar
2 T vegan Worcestershire sauce
2 T mustard
1 t cayenne (optional)
1 t BBQ rub
Sautée onion, peppers, bacon, and sausage in pan until cooked through (this is optional, sometimes I skip this step). Mix all ingredients together and add to a large casserole dish. Bake at 325 for an hour.
