Vanilla Caramel Swirl Protein Shake (Vegan)

I felt like I was drinking a milkshake, this was so good!! It is really simple to make, it's best if you make the caramel ahead of time so you can just plop it in there when you're ready to make your shake! If you don't like protein shakes, you can

totally skip the protein powder and just add vanilla instead:)

Vanilla Caramel Swirl Protein Shake

  • 20 oz of water or plant based milk

  • 2 frozen bananas (freeze them when they are ripe/spotted) (if you don't have frozen bananas, just use fresh with a 1/2 cup of ice)

  • 1-2 scoops of vanilla protein powder (depending on how much protein you want, I just did 1 scoop) (you can also replace the protein powder with 2 t of vanilla)

  • 2 giant plops of caramel (click HERE for the caramel recipe or scroll down below)

Add all the ingredients to a blender except the caramel. Blend until smooth. Add the caramel and swirl it around. Enjoy:)

Caramel Sauce Recipe

  • 24 pitted dates (soak in hot water for 30 min or more if you have time)

  • 1 can of coconut cream

  • 3/4 cup of sugar (I used coconut sugar)(it is good without the sugar so this is optional if you want it to be healthier)

  • 1 t vanilla

  • a couple pinches of salt

After dates have soaked, add them to a blender along with the the rest of the ingredients Blend until smooth. Add the sauce to a small pot and bring to a boil (stir frequently) Once boiling, reduce to low for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add to a jar and refrigerate until ready to use. Serve warm or cold.
